Ruthenium electrolytes
Ruthenium is characterized by exceptional abrasion resistance and hardness. Ruthenium baths from METAKEM are used for both technical and decorative purposes. Both gray and dark, anthracite-black layers are deposited. The latter are achieved by adding blackening additives. These baths are often used in the field of selective deposition, e.g., on gold – resulting in surfaces with high color contrast.
Strongly acidic ruthenium bath for electroplating gray ruthenium coatings. By adding the blackening additive Ruthenium BLACK 500 B, dark-colored layers are produced, which can be individually determined in color depending on the amount of blackening additive added.

Ruthenium-BLACK-500-B / Ruthenium-R-5-B
The blackening additive Ruthenium-BLACK-500-B is an additive specifically developed for Ruthenium-BLACK-500. By adding this blackening additive, L-values on the color scale of ‹ 60 are achieved. The same applies to Ruthenium-R-5-B in connection with Ruthenium-R-5.
